To the kind people on this list that have helped me, a newcomer to South
African research, I want to say a big THANK you. I had a few of you that
were very kind, and sent me the below information regarding my William
Clark. I am deciding whether I should get someone to go to the archives and
search the below file, but before I do that, I was wondering if anyone has
any ideas as to what the ( S/S JANE) that is written beside his name might
mean. I do not know whether this man was married, so I suppose it could be a
possibility that it is an indication of his wife's name, but I also thought
it might be an indication of the ship that he arrived in South Africa on.Has
anyone else seen this sort of reference before.

I look forward to your ideas.

Laurie
