Maureen,

1. Simply search NAAIRS for the farm name.

2. Look at estate records. The will often have the mortgage bonds for the
farm among the Executor's papers. I was able to connect some of my ancestors
by finding a mortgage granted to Johan, Johanz, Andriesz, which turned out to
be Johan, son of Johan, son of Andries.

I don't have any advice about how you would find out about original title
deeds or records of farm surveys, but presume these will be among the old
Transvaal records in Pretoria. Do any other Listers have advice about
finding documents related to old farms, not just in the Transvaal but also
in the other provinces, especially Capel? I'd very much like to know, seeing
as I'm on the hunt for several farms myself.
