Hi Linda
I cannot help with BLACKMORE but from
Encyclopaedia of SA - Rosenthal
Frances Ellen COLENSO, protagonist of the Zulu people. Daughter of Bishop
JW, was born in England in 1849 and came to Natal in 1855. There she and
her sister Harriette helped their father and wrote widely, pleading the case
of the African people. She died in 1887
Harriette Emily COLENSO, protagonist of the Zulu people, daughter of Bishop
JW, born in England and came to Natal in 1855. As helper to her father and
sister, Frances , she was active in the political field. After the Zulu
Rebellion of 1906, she took a leading part in organising the defence of
Dinizulu, the Zulu Chief.
Then there is Bishop John William, born in Cornwall in 1814, ... and died in
1883..
Kind regards
Lynn MacLeod
