No Sharon, Caroline is no relation.I am sure she is what we called "one of
the Alice Knotts" My KNOTT family are early Natal pioneers from Yorkshire.
But if you go to Gonubie do look up my brother.
I don't know much about this Trow family though. Very immediate meeting it
was!

> Talk of a small world, Pat...I used to work with Caroline Knott in East
London - is she perhaps Brian's daughter? My dad lives in Gonubie now and
I'm be there for Christmas... Was also at scholl with a Dale Trow in
Queenstown - I think she was from Umtata or Viedgesville in Transkei...

> My brother Brian Knott (no relation to the Alice Knott family references
seen frequently on this list) who lives at Gonubie read an article by Colin
Trow in which he described how his grandfather had been sent out on patrol
from Isandhlwana only to return to find most of the Imperial forces killed.
My brother was intrigued as our grandfather with the NMP was also withdrawn
from there shortly before the disaster and lost many of his friends who
remained. Brian phoned Colin Trow of Port Elizabeth and mentioned this (both
men can talk and talk) and that I had written about this incident too, and
that I lived in Havelock North NZ. Yesterday I got a phone call from Napier
(20 minutes drive from here. Colin Trow and wife Thelma no less. (Marielle
she has Ford ancestry), So we spent an incredible afternoon.... Hence the
book.
