A testament is the testament part of a "Last Will and Testament". The will
deals with real, or immovable property, while the testament deals with
movable property or personalty.

Usually the two documents are combined, but if he didn't have any immovable
property, he didn't need to write a will so just wrote a testament.

The will says who gets your house and garden; the testament says who gets
your car, TV, cows, horses, sheep etc.
