Sorry, sent this to Nolene instead of the list by mistake.

If anyone was wondering where Clifton was in Johannesburg, it is the area
around where the present Civic Centre now stands. I managed to discover
this in conversation with a retired Methodist minister whose father was the
minister there from +- 1914 onwards.

Subject: [ZA] Johannesburg Transvaal Wesleyan Methodist Baptisms 1906
April - June

Herewith the next batch of baptisms from Johannesburg. These registers
include some other surrounding areas. The volume of entries is quite large
and I will be posting them on a quarterly/year basis from now on.

These extracts are from Items #3 & #9 Microfilm# 1560880 Wesleyan
Methodist - Johannesburg Transvaal. A new register for "Clifton" was started
in February 1897 and the entries for this suburb are included in these
transcripts.
