Hi everyone
I am Rosemary Payne (nee Calitz) currently residing in the USA and am trying
to find info on my grandmother Hester Caroline Calitz (born Meintjes) born in
Graaff-Reinet-don't know when but my other grandmother was born in 1892 so I
would presume give or take a few years marrried Pieter or Petrus Calitz. I
know nothing about my father's side of the family and have researched Calitz
for a few years now and have come up empty so trying the Meintjes side. I have
looked through Keith Meintjes book but have not found anything as they
concentrate more on the male side. On the Daniel Johannes Hendrik born 1827
they had names like Lambertus and Hester-which could be family names. My dad
Lambertus Calitz was born 2 Jul 1917 and was married to my mother Edna Bosman
so any Meintjes info that would be helpful I would appreciate or perhaps where
to go from here. Not being in the RSA doesn't make it any easier
