I think you might have just lost a tooth on that bullet. Just Googling, I found a few references where it is recognised in the world. and maybe soon in more places. As Genealogists we have to adapt our records to what is recognised and legel in some places. Trust me, we will all have to deal with this in our records in time to come. Let,s put oure own views aside and deal with what is reality.

I am going to bite the bullet here.

I have very definite views on this subject, which I won't air here.

There is no such an event as a 'Same Sex Marriage'.

However the reason why you cannot enter a relationship where two males or
two females co-habit, is there is no provision in LAW for this relationship
to be recognised by the state other than as co-habiting.

Thankfully the databases also recognise the state stance.
