Hi Delia et al,
The way I see it is that Legacy and all the others must realise that these changes are about to happen all over and sort the problem from their sides. Legacy's attitude towards this problem is treating like an ostrich. Maybe they hope it's a passing phase??
As we deal with bloodlines it is not a major problem, but it needs to be dealt with as it is a legal "thing" and we cannot therefore always have a "different"entry for them.

Pat Smith was explaining how to overcome an initial data entry in a same
sex couple. To enable her to enter the second individiual in the
couple, she would "incorrectly" add the partner as a spouse (or
whatever) of the "opposite" sex . . . and then afterwards change the
gender of the person so that it is correct.
She and I use the same software, and another way of doing it would be to
add the 2nd individual as an unrelated person, and then subsequently add
the marriage, civil union, or other binding relationship event. They
would then appear as a couple in reports, etc. This latter method would
work if one of the individuals had previously been recorded in your data
as a partner in a heterosexual union.
Kind regards
Delia Robertson
