A blog is a "web log" -- originally a site (often with special
"blogging"
software that lets one keep a running log of web sites visited with
comments
on them.
A genealogy one would provide links to genealogy web sites, with
comments on
their usefulness and so on.
Nowadays, however, blogs are tending to merge with web journals, where
people
write about various things, private diaries, or public ones that others
can
read, some comment on books they have read, films they have seen, what
their
kids get up to, or post a holiday journal.
I have several blogs, one of which is a family history journal.
If you go to
http://hayesgreene.blogspot.com/2006/03/why-family-history-journal.html
you can see why.
Others may have different reasons.
