So i have been tinkering with ideas for a final - revision 1,
presentation, in time for christmas.
I'm using Family Tree Maker, an old version from '01 or something, and
what i've done is by getting a 'genealogy report' (blue btton) - then
exporting it as .rtf, then import that into OpenOffice, then i've
tried adding a photo of each person next to their name, which i've
done with success. Then from their my intention would be to print it
out (not on my printer but find somewhere that does reasonable
quality) and put into a nice binder thing to show for Christmas.
I dont lke the 'trees', at all, i like all the info that goes with the
family history.
I will also like to add all the other stuff, such as birth
certificates, death, wills and so on. It could end up being rather
lengthy, but hey, its worth it.
I think the family would love to see a comprehensive family tree
complete with photos, docs, etc - all presented nicely in some binder
or something.
Perhaps i really need is other software to compile everything like a
book... anyone know of any?
This almost feels like a school project, which might i add, i'm rather enjoying.
