The Jews fled the persecution and inquisition for 500 years, to all corners
of the globe.

My paternal great grandfather came to South Africa (date of arrival unknown)
and married Elizabeth Cornelia COMBRINK, by special license 1873 Salt River,
Cape.
The entire BELINFANTE family are Jewish as far back as I can go, but because
he married out of the faith his descendants are non Jews.
I have Elizabeth WOLFF married to Abraham BELINFANTE in Brussels circa 1830,
also spelt with a single O.

Lucky
Johannesburg.
