Hi, Nolene.

"Overberg Origins" was published in 1988. It says it "aims to record the
stamvaders and descendants of those families in this old town who were not
included by C.C. de Villiers in his genealogical classic ..."

I have the following "English" families in my direct line who were based in
SWELLENDAM

DAVIES - Thomas & Sophia (CHILDS)from London - arrived circa 1826 - 1828 -
My direct line is Francis DAVIES, Thomas's son who married Catharina
LAMBERT.

LAMBERT (Irish origin) - William & Johanna (CLARK) - I have never been able
to find baptisms for any of their children - I think they may have been
Catholic?

Related names (not my direct line) in Swellendam are:

SMITH
GARDNER
KELLY

Any bits of info on these name will be greatly appreciated. I have full set
of SAG volumes and have extracted all I can from them...........
