Penny,
The British Library, Newspaper Library at Colindale, N. London holds the =
BA Herald from about 1871; it also has several Spanish language =
newspapers from Argentina and Uruguay too.=20
London University, Institute of Latin American Studies also has a very =
good collection of material including business records. Peter Walne's =
Book A Guide to Manuscript Sources for the History of Latin America and =
The Carribean in The British Isles OUP 1973 although rather dated is =
still a very useful guide to tghe location of material in the UK.=20
Jorge's latest note regarding the younger son's of several families that =
were in BA in the latter part of the last century interested me as some =
of them may have gone there with my elusive Thomas Large Henly.
Does anyone know how to find Bankruptcy hearings in BA?
Bob Henly

a
huge collection of Latin American material, much of it donated by former
anglo residents of various latin american countries. Canning House is =
also
the meeting place of the Anglo-Uruguayan society ( with other similar =
groups
) and maybe the librarian can put you in touch with a geneology-oriented
person in the AAS.
