The reference was probably my posting on my family (Lewis, Britten and
later, Finch), titled "From Britain to Falkland Is./Patagonia";
unfortunately, the only reply I have ever had was from H. R. Henly, and
that, while helpful, did not set me on the track of anything new.
As concerns the posting you're replying to, I can't help much, other than
to confirm that the town mentioned is most likely today's Carmen de
Patagones; since this town is located on the Rio Negro ("Black River"),
although within the Province of Buenos Aires, it could well have been
referred to as "Carmen del Rio Negro" in the 1860's to differentiate it
from several other Argentine towns named Carmen. And, while I seem to
remember a Morrison family in Argentina in the 1950's, I never knew them
personally, so don't know if there was any connection, or whether they
could be contacted today. Sorry!
