Hello Richard:
I am glad also to hear from you too. As a matter of fact, I always was
here, in spite of a long period in the USA and recently in Singapore. And
next September I will be in Cairo. Perhaps I will use this opportunity to
drop in England. If I do so, I will surely have to visit General Register
Office-Somerset House London.St. Catherine to dig the proper files. I
contacted an Irish Trench who told me some fine details about my pressumed
ancestors.(Besides the Earls, that are usually very well documented by the
fact of their peirage)
While in the USA I read an unbias accopunt of Irish history, planning to go
to Irelad to a short visit to Galway. I fell so depressed about the
accounts I read, that I decide not to go there and start asking for the
Trench there!
A time ago you said:
<By the way, I have asked someone to copy out the geneology of <the earls
of Clancarty for you. It woill go by snail-mail, will <advise when it is on
its way.
<saludos Richard Yudin
I am glad to know that time has rippen for your kind snail mail.

Where to order a copy?
A chap David Trench from Australia told me:
<I also know that the name Trench has a coat of arms (my Uncle Brian has
this) and was originally spelt Trenche - from Normandy France around 1066
as he was a captain in William the Conquerors army that invaded England. He
was also given Title and land.>
This confuses more, I thought that Trench surname was a single one, look
now related to William the Conqueror!
Brian Trench from Dublin told me:
<Fact: Your great-great-grandfather John Trench was *not* an officially
recorded son of the Archdeacon of Ardagh. He is stated, in the records, to
have had three sons and one daughter, the three sons being Charles Thomas,
Frederick William and Henry Luke.>
<Fact: the Archdeacon had many 'illegitimate' sons and daughters, the
precise number being a matter of conjecture and dispute.
The Archdeacon's unofficial offspring may have been as many as seven sons
and seven daughters. My father has sought the best available information on
this, but some of the crucial records are missing, including court records
relating to a libel action taken by the Archdeacon in connection with
remarks published
on his extra-familial activities. However, your message has reactivated my
father's searching.
Tradition has it that the family name Archdeacon - which can be found in
Ireland and England - originates from Charles Le Poer Trench's activities.
The suggested dates for John Trench would fit his being a son of the
Archdeacon.
We may be able to confirm that there was a John among the Archdeacon's
'illegitmate' sons. Obviously, you will need more information from other
sources to establish if this is the man who interests you. Are there any
more clues through John Arthur Trench as to his father's, or his mother's,
circumstances?
Hope to be in touch again.
Brian Trench>
So as you see I need to dig more in the registrars...
