Dear Roger,
Just a long shot but did your family ever spell the name CROSSE? I am
trying to track down a Crosse family who may have been English or Irish who
married into the Burton family c. 1800 (Burtons of Tuam, Galway) . They
were a military family. Col. Crosse (who married Miss Burton) served in
the Peninsular War in Portugal and his son St. Croix Crosse was a military
surgeon.
Regards
Helen Burton

PS Have you tried the tombstone database in Bristol? I don't have the
address with me here (where I work) but I could look it out over the
weekend.
