Subject: [SOUTH-AM-EMI-L] A 1840/50's British Ship Journey to the River Plate
Date: Tue, 27 Nov 2001 13:20:22
Hello Listers,
I wonder if anyone of you has reference sources, bibliography or websites on
a typical ship journey from Britain to Argentina during the 1840/50's. My
interests are: types/description of ships, ports of embarking and calls,
duration, cost of passage tickets, crew, onboard life (eg., food), weather,
dangers, etc. I am not interested in a ship in particular, but general
descriptions. Thank you very much for your cooperation,
Edmundo Murray
