Okay, mark me down as an abusive mother....BUT 29 years ago when my baby was
having such a terrible time cutting her teeth, MY great grandma (her great
great grandma), told me her little secret she used when her own 4 children
were cutting teeth. Now I can say that my 2 babies cut their teeth on Lord
Calvert's Whiskey. Just a little bit on my finger and rubbed on their gums,
and we all had a few moments of relief. And my father's cough medicine was a
mixture of whiskey, sugar or honey and lemon juice. Worked every time. Old
home remedies may no longer be popular in a time when everyone is carrying a
banner spouting Child Abuse, but they worked.
