Hello Folks,
I am trying to trace the Philips family/families of Logan Co, KY in 1800.

John Philips married Permelia "Amelia Stalions" Stallings Jan 20, 1810 in Logan Co,
KY. They then settled Posey Co, IN 1811. I have found all the Stallings relatives,
but am having a very difficult time finding any relatives (even circumstantial
evidence) of the relatives of John Philips. Permelia/Amelia Stallings' father was
Wright Stallings of Franklin Co, NC 1790 and Chatham Co, NC 1800. He died in Posey
Co, IN 1828-1836.

The Pope/Cain/Stallings/Philips families seem to be interactive from the
counties of NC prior to 1800, then into the South Central area of KY 1800-1810, and
then into Posey Co, IN 1811-1830. The John Walker family also figures in too. John
Walker was a Rev War Vet who settled in Posey Co, IN 1810-1815 He and Ephraim Hackett
(also RWV) were witnesses for the divorce action Permelia Stallings Philips brought
against John P. Philips in Posey Co, IN 1821-1822..

I have been working backwards and trying to find where all the first settlers of
Posey Co, IN came from. Those Walker, Cain, Phillips, Stewart, Pope, Stallings
who were already in the Logan, Trigg, Christian, Livingston, etc counties of KY
1800-1810 have driven me nuts!

William Pope of Edgecombe b. 1777 m. Sally Stallings thought to be dtr of James
Stallings. A William Pope is in Logan Co 1810. Don't know if it is the same one.

Etheldred and Hartwell Philips appear in deeds with Cain and Pope families in
area 1789.
Josiah Pope m Sarah Cain. He died 1805 in Edgecombe Co, NC.
Moses Stallings owned land "next door" to James Cain 1784 Nash Co, NC
Elizabeth Pope m. Claiborne Duval and died in Logan Co, KY 1815
John C. Pope died Logan Co, KY 1820.
Thomas Pope died Trigg Co, KY 1821.

1790 Nash Co, NC census includes Walker, Stallings, Phillips, Wyatt, Pope and Cain
1790 Edgecombe Co, NC census includes Stallings and Phillips families.

Wm Wyatt, John and Isaac Walker, Issac White, Wm Steward (Stewart?), Jacob and Joseph

Phillips are in Knox Co, IN 1807. Benjamin, Aaron, and John Philips are in
Washington Co, KY
1800. {Knox Co, IN encompased southern IN and IL prior to 1816}
Jacob, William and Peter Philips are in Logan Co, KY 1800.
Cain, Philips, Stewart families are in Livingston Co, KY early. 1800-1810?
Jacob and Joseph Philips are listed on 1799 Logan Co, KY tax list.
Peter, Jacob, William Philips are on 1800 Logan Co, Ky tax list (reference to L. (?)
Philips on Jacob and William's land. (This is possibly L. William Philips of NC.)

Lucy Phillips married Philip Frederick 1810 Knox Co, IN (One source says "Frederick
Philips", but I think this is wrong. There are quite a few of the Frederick clan who

settled southern IN who seem to be from the Duplin Co, NC area, plus the other
clan in Posey Co doesn't show a Frederick Phillips m. to Lucy anybody.)
Rachel Philips married David Welton 1810 Knox Co, IN
Julius Stallions married Jane Lee 1814 Logan Co, KY
Moses Stallions married Nancy Jenkins 1815 Caldwell Co, KY

Dec. 1812, Logan Co, KY Jacob Philips of Christian Co paid for some land on the Elk
Fork of Red River being 200 acres granted to William Phillips and willed to Jacob by
said William. William's will probated Feb1813 in Logan Co names sons Charles, Moses,

James, Jacob, Isaac, John, and possibly Wm Philips Jr.. Dau Hannah and grdson
William Adams. (son Jacob Philips and g-son William Adams to be raised by Stephen
The will was written 1804, so son Jacob was of age by 1812} Researcher was not sure
if John was a son
or brother.

Jacob, Joseph, William and Peter Philips are on the tax list of 1800 Logan Co, KY
and are possibly brothers of John Philips. But is he MY John Philips?

Any assistance determining these families and their kin would be not only greatly
appreciated, but rewarded with anything and everything I have collected on every
