Monday, 21 Dec 1812. Present: Hardin DAVIS, Archibald SLOAN & Leonard H
MAURY. William ANDERSON appt Surveyor of the Burkesville Rd from Boyds
Creek to the "fallin timer" - Falling Timber - instead of Thomas GOODWIN.
Little Thomas SHERLEY [sic -SHIRLEY] appt surveyor of the Columbia Road in
the room of Wm LASWELL - from the Adair Co line to the Cross road near
Little Barren.
Sally HAWKINS widow and relict of John granted Administration on his
estate, went bond with Jehu HAWKINS. Benjamin BUSTER, Wm EDMUNDS, James
DODD, Zachariah DOWNS (any 3) to appraise his estate and slaves if any.
Inventory and estate of Wm EMMERSON returned and recorded. Summons to issue
against Joseph POINTER, infant son of Thomas POINTER and Neal CHAPMAN to
shew cause why Joseph should not be bound out. {note: I think this was
written wrong, one wouldn't think that a child would be served, think it
likely meant Thomas was summonded re Joseph.]
Ambrose MANNON & Wm ROARK and others who were summoned to shew cause why a
road from the state line down Punchin Camp Creek, intersecting the road
from Hall's Ferry to the courthouse should not be opened - Roark consented,
Mannon objected. Ambros MANNON also asked for a adquad damnum to look for a
road. Joseph JENKINS [shown JINKINS] appt surveyor of road from Skaggs
Creek near GILLOCK's to the Caney Fork in the room of Wm MARTIN.
Wm LOGAN, John McFERRAN and Samuel JOURDIN (any 3) to convey to John DISON
Jr 117 acres of land re bond given by Lewis PATRICK in his lifetime to
Nicholas KING who assigned to John DISON.Henry MILLER adn WIlliam T BUSH to
allot hands for working on the Burkesville Rd from town to Boyds Creek with
Thomas BEAUCHAMP surveyor. Andrew BEARD, David LYON, Daniel GRIGGS, and
Cuthbert HARDING to view for a road from near Hardy SMITH's shop
intersecting the Saltworks road near James JOLLIFF and make report.
John EDGAR, Job TROBRIDGE, John LYON, Ephream MAXWEY (any 3) to view for a
road from the Bear Wallow to the Elk Lick, begining at the Big Pond, near
ARTHUR's Shop. Clerk to bind Matilda WARNACK, infant female child of Thinia
WARNACK, about 7 to Wm BURD to learn housekeeping until age 18. Adjourned.
