That was William Ingram Pace going bond with Obediah White for the
widow Branstetter. Regrettably those who wrote his name repeatedly
wrote his middle initial so that it looked more like a J than an I.
I'm sure that there is a William J. Pace floating around somewhere,
but if you see him in Barren or Metcalfe Counties, his middle name is
probably Ingram.

To confuse matters more, there were two William Ingram Paces in this
area. There was one who married Sallie Nunn in Virginia and then
moved to this area in the very early 1800s (if not before). He was
born in Henry County VA in 1773 to John and Elizabeth Pace. This John
Pace's parents were William and Luranna Pace.

Then there was the William Ingram Pace born in KY in 1809 to Langston
and Millie (Nunn) Pace. Langston was brother to John Pace named
above, so the two William Ingram Pace's were first cousins, although
they were born about 36 years apart.

The first one probably got his middle name from the midden name of
his mother's mother who was Elizabeth Ingram, married to Joseph Nunn.
The second one may have gotten his middle name from his mother's
father, Ingram Nunn.

Obviously, the one named in Sandi's post was the elder William Ingram Pace.
