Hello Again...just re-reading your last email and noticed that a PARKER
friend did some cemetery favors for you and I wondered if you knew that you
were a PARKER also? Yep, you are! Your sweet little ole Great Great
Grandmother, Appy Caroline Cottingham who married Francis Marion Trucks was
the daughter of Nancy Parker and Elisha Cottingham. You are also a Brown,
Anderson, Sands,Clayton, Whetstone, and a Cobb on your GGGrandmothers side
(Nancy Parker). And on your Elisha Cottingham side you are a: Toadvine ;o),
Cox, Dixon & Jane MORDAUNT the D/O Sir L'Estrange MORDAUNT. So there you
go, something to think about <LOL> Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that you
are my third cousin....so says my genealogy program.

Notes:
About 1817 Elisha and three of his brothers, Charles, John and William,
came to Alabama with their father, Elisha, I.. In 1817 they were in
Montgomery County, Alabama and in 1819 they turned up in Bibb County,
Alabama. John went to southeast Alabama. William stayed in Bibb county at
least until 1835. William was a Methodist preacher and was residing in
Talladega County, Alabama some years later. When the Cottingham's arrived
in Bibb county they immediately built a Methodist church. They called it
"Cottingham Church" but later the name was changed to Wesley Chapel Church.
It remained active until 1990.

The Bibb County Census that Elisha was enumerated were:
1830, 1840, 1850, 1860 and the 1870 census. On the 1860 Bibb County Census
Elisha's two sisters, Sarah Wilson and Margaret St. Clair, were in his
household as was his son. James Madison and his wife, Anna Elizabeth Trucks
Cottingham (with 5 of their children).
