I find the Alabama Heritage Magazine filled with good information. It
is published by University of Alabama. (One year (four issues) $18.95.)
They offer back issues too.

I also have "Place Names in Alabama" and "Georgia Place Names" if I can
look up a town, county or site for someone. I do not have a Bibb Co.
history but also research Reach, Looney and Buford families in Bibb Co.,
AL.

Subject: [SOUTHEAST-PIONEERS] Books for sale at Wallace State?

My first day at Cullman County Public Library I found a display case
where
they had genealogy books for sale -- most concerned Cullman Co records
but one
concerned Bibb Co. I bought me a mess of 'em ;-)

Does anyone know if Wallace State has similar books available for
purchase
there? I wish we had gone up to the 6th floor but our itinerary only
allowed for
what we got in the microfilm collection on the 5th floor. I'll
definitely
have to go back sometime in the near future. Now that I know the drive
to Cullman
is maybe a little over 2 hours tops.
