After watching the tv show "who do you think you are" my wife and I decided to search my lineage. In doing so, I came upon your posting. Although I am not positive, I am pretty sure that the Howard Elmore Spain that you were referring to was my grandfather, and his wife, Clara Vann Whitehurst Spain, was my grandmother. My father, Howard Calvin Spain, was his son. "H.E.'s" other children, Milton Spain and Virginia Bradley, are my uncle and aunt. I am very curious to hear about the rest of the family lineage. If you have done any more research, please post it so that I can let my siblings know about it.
