Barbara,

I became a bit excited when I saw that you were looking for Vigil from
Gijon! Here is what I have..... Our Vigil's are from Muo, which is on the
outskirts of Gijon.

Serafina and her brother Cesareo Vigil y Cortina
He was born in 1851 and she was born, I'd guess 5 years around there give or
take. I don't know if there are any other brothers or sisters in that
family, it just stops there, for the time being :-) Cesareo didn't have any
children (that we know of) He move to Cuba and then to New York by 1899.
Serafina married Manuel Fernandez and they had 9 children one of them being
my GGrandfather.

But..... One of their children, Nieves Fernandez y Vigil (born around 1900)
married Francisco Vigil from Gijon or the surrounding areas. They inturn
had 3 children Vigil-Fernandez and they are now in their 70's.

Anything ring a bell? If you have any information I would appreciate it, If
I get any new information I will let you know.
