Welcome everyone to the SPANN mailing list, and happy new year to all.

This mailing list is for disussing genealogical research on the SPANN surname.

Many of us are descendant from Captain John Spann who was in Virginia in the
early 1700's. Steadman suggests that (Captain) John Spann was born in
Virginia circa 1693 the son of John Spann. Another researcher suggests that
(Captain) John Spann was born 1689 in Cavan, Ireland, the son of Benjamin
Spann. Only time, and additional research, will help resolve the mystery.

I have started a web page where I have been posting the information I have on
the SPANN family. Anyone interested is welcome to visit

should be submited to this list, and specific questions
regarding information on my web site should be sent to me.
