Hope I don't get thrown off the list for starting this! The replies have
been great, especially the ones with pictures from dashes and slashes! I'm
struggling to describe what I'm thinking of. Childhood memory here so things
may have seemed bigger, but it was made of wood, I think it was about 8 feet
long, about 8 inches wide and about 1 foot deep with 'running boards' for
your feet to make it move (would that be kinetic motion - distant memories
of physics...). It had metal handles (like upside down Us) to hold on to and
4 or 5 children sat at either end. So a bit like sitting on a horse. It was
fixed to the ground in the middle but with some mechanical 'thingy' in the
middle so that you rocked it up and down like a seesaw.
Does that make any sense - or did I imagine it, in which case I'm going to
apply for a patent and make millions.
