Good afternoon to everyone!

Welcome to the 'new' Stamper-Family-Project mailing list.

It is taking me a bit to iron some of the kinks out. Thank you for bearing with me as I learn what 'to do' and 'how to do' the mechanics of a mailing list.

As I said earlier, this new mailing list is, in no way, competing with the Stamper mailing list, hosted by Stamper cousin, Wil Vaught. I am hoping the two lists will complement each other (and help me with my emails). Some of you may / may not be subscribed to one or both. However the case, you can always read all the postings of both lists in the archives.

Another purpose of the list is to help with the update of the Stamper publication, Eastern Kentucky Stamper Kin: Some Descendants of James, Jonathan and Joel. In order to do justice for this task, I feel it is imperitive that we spend time documenting as many of the names as possible; and accounting for each family member ... to the best of our ability. Each researcher may have a variety of resources available; some more resources than others.

We all have a picture of how our Stamper families come together. We now, need to bring the picture into a clearer focus; by presenting what documentation we have available; and tracking down or eliminating our possibilities generation by generation.

Jesse Stamper has agreed to assemble the research for the early Stampers .. leading up to and around the time of the early census records. It would be very helpful if everyone reading this could forward what they have on the Stampers up to about 1800. After everyone's work has been compared, I hope we can get discussions going and get all our facts / figures out and possibly glean more information.

Thank you all for participating! You are vital to this project.

Golden
