Here is all I have on Joel Stamper. I'm sending it to you through
Stamper-Family so if anyone else can use the information it's here for them.
Here goes:
We will start out with a Letter regarding Joel Stamper and the American
Revolution. This was found on HeritageQuestOnline.com on March 24, 2006.

Dear Madam:
Reference is made to your letter in which you requested information in
regard to Joel Stamper, soldier of the War of the revolution from Wilkes
County, North Carolina.
The data furnished herein pertaining to Joel Stamper were obtained from the
papers on file in pension claim, S. 3999, based upon his service in the War
of the Revolution.
Joel Stamper was born May 17, 1755 in Amherst county, Virginia, and when
about twelve years old moved with his father to Wilkes County, North
Carolina. The names of his parents are not given.
While residing in Wilkes County, North Carolina, he enlisted and served with
the North carolina troops, as follows: three months in Captain Jesse Walton's
company, stationed at Salisbury; a little later, two months in same company,
in pursuit of Tories; again in same company, three weeks in pursuit of Toris
at the forks of the Yadkin; three months under Colonel Campbell, guarding
prisoners taken at the battle of Kings Mountain; and two short tours under
Captain John Morgan, against the Tories on the New river. There are no dates
of service given.
He was allowed pension on his application executed February 4, 1833, at
which time he was living in Wilkes County, North Carolina.
There are no data in the claim concerning the family of the soldier, Joel
Stamper.
If you desire information relative to the last payment of pension, name and
address of person paid, and probably the date of death of this pensioner,
you should address The Comptroller General, General Accounting Office,
Records Division, Washington, D.C., and cite the following:
