My G-G-Grandfather Jonathan R. Stanley, probably son of Thomas
Stanley, of VA, b 1782 VA or NC, married Elizabeth Covington 24
Jan 1805 in Madison Co. KY. She was a daughter of Robert and
Mary (Duncan) Covington, Revolutionary War soldier. Their children were:
Thomas, b 1806 KY, Robert b 1809 Clark Co., KY, and William Coleman, b
1816 KY. They moved to Cooper Co., MO 1818. Dunkin R., my G-Grandfather,
b.1820, Ella, and Susan, b 1822-25, in Cooper Co., MO.

The mother Elizabeth died ca 1825-27, Cooper Co., MO, and the father may
have married Mrs. Jane Bigham, 30 Nov 1828 Cooper Co., MO and moved a
short time to Howard Co, MO, and then back to Chariton Co, MO

Thomas, the oldest child was the first settler, 1828, on Grand River in
Chariton Co. where Sumner, MO is now located. He was a hunter, trapper,
and Indian trader. After his mothers death, Robert, William and Dunkin
R. move to their brother's home. Robert, later located in Livingston
Co., MO; William Coleman stayed in Chariton, Co. MO.

Dunkin R., my G-Grandfather, b 1820 Cooper Co., MO married Elizabeth
Wilkerson 24 Jun 1841 in Livingston Co., MO, removed to of Mercer and to
Linn Co., MO, 1865. Both bur in Chariton Co., MO Stanley Cemetery. One
son, John J, Stanley was Sheriff of Mercer Co., MO, 1886-1900, m Sarah
E.?

The two daughters, Ella or Ellen, b ca 1818 m a Brownlee and Susan, b
1822-1826 Cooper Co, MO. More info of them has been lost.

Would appreciate any info on this Jonathan R. Stanley Family and his
descendants.
