Nola,

I have never mentioned any state page. My comments are regarding the
National page www.usgenweb.org the states and county pages are a whole
different ball of confusion.

For those of you who have Comcast I understand they are upping the space
they give to their subscribers banner and advertisement free.

My comments regarding state, local and county sites pertains to the records
donated.

Why place copyright notices on the sites and give the person who donates a
false sense or security when the sites are used as to suck up data for TGN.

Wait until the decision is final and see how long we stay on Rootsweb and
then I will agree with you that we have sold our soul and I will be an
ex-USGenWeb member. I honestly do not think it will happen.

However, neither you nor any other SC would tolerate any directive from the
AB telling them to move their state pages. The AB has very limited power to

do anything about the state pages or the individual county sites. It will
be the SCs and/or CCs who make the decision whether they wish to be owned by

TGN or not. I have made my decision and have certainly made it public so I
really should stop.
