I found Salisbury, Somerset County, PA on Map Quest south to the city of Somerset
almost at the border
with Maryland. Casper's family lived in the North East of Somerset County. In
what is now Shade Township.
They did spread out from there.

There are several Emanuel Statlers or Stotlers early.
Emanuel son of Casper. Shade Twp 1850 and 1860 census
Emanuel son of Jacob and Nancy Sites Allegheny County 1850
Emanuel possibly brother of Casper and/or Jacob died about 1796 Franklin County PA.

Found him:
1870 Census, Salisbury
Statler, Emanuel 21 Shoemaker
", Susan 24
1880 Census, Salisbury
Statler, Emanuel 31
Susan 35
Morris 9
Eugene 7
Clarence 2/12
I believe this Emanuel is not a decendent of Casper but of Samuel died Franklin
County 1804.

As for which families (Stephen's to Casper's etc.) connect, twenty years of research
has not given me any connections, that is the main reason I am doing this DNA
project.
