Mrs. Robert Stedman (Laura J. DOYLE) was a sister-in-law of my GGrandfather
William Thomas Steadman (Bridgeport, OH). This obituary was published in
1909 in a Washington, PA newspaper.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Robert Stedman
Mrs. Laura J. Stedman, wife of Robert Stedman, died at her home at 86 West
Beau street, Washington, at 6:25 a. m. yesterday, after a short illness of
pneumonia, aged about 54 years.
The deceased's maiden name was Doyle, being a daughter of
David Doyle, whose ancestors, called at that time O'Doyle, came to America
years ago and settled near the present town of Germantown, opposite the city
of Philadelphia. Her parents resided many years at St. Clairsville, O.
About 36 years ago she was married to Robert Stedman and lived several
years at Bridgeport, O., coming to Washington about 12 years ago.
Mrs. Stedman is survived by her husband and the following children:
William Stedman, of Bellevue, O.; Mrs. Joseph Forrest, of West Wheeling
street; Mark W., Harry, Robert, Jr., John, David, Nellie and Mary, at
home, and Ruth, who resides with her brother, William, at Bellvue, O.
George Doyle, East Chestnut street; Rev. Sherman Doyle, pastor of the Fourth
Presbyterian church in Philadelphia, and John Doyle, of Wheeling, W. VA.,
are bothers, and Mrs. Webster Jackson, of Erwin, Tennessee, is a sister of
the deceased. The funeral will be held at her late home this evening at
7:30 o'clock. On Friday morning the remains will be taken to St.
Clairsville, Ohio , where interment will be made. Her six sons will act as
pallbearers, according to her request.
