Newton J. Steele
Newton J. Steele, 73, passed away on September 3, 2004. He was born July 21, 1931 in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Newton was a graduate of Vernon High School, the University of Texas and the University of Texas School of Law.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He practiced law in Midland, Texas, and moved to Huntsville in 1975 where he founded Steele & Associates. He was predeceased by his parents, John Albert Steele and Dixie Dee Steele; and his brother Jack Steele.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janice Steele of Hunstville; sons, Addison Steele and wife Susan of Chicago, Illinois, John Rodman Steele and wife Dina of Dallas, Kelly Steele and wife Cari of Huntsville; a daughter, Stephanie Hedrick and husband Larry of Sugar Land; his sister, Ginny Reese and her husband Bob of Liberty Hill; grandsons, Cody Goolsby, Tanner Hedrick, Rodman Steele, Jr., and Cooper Steele; granddaughters, Brooke Hedrick and Faye Steele; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the First Prebyterian Church of Huntsville for their kindness and the Steeles' longtime housekeeper, Rosie Espinosa, for her love and support of Newton and Janice.
