Possible, but I think unlikely. I've had a look at the 1841 census for Plymouth St Andrews HO107/269 and HO107/270. A copy of the 1841 census has sat on my shelf for two years and I've not really done anything with it. As far as I can tell Lambhay Hill appears in both districts, I just hope I haven't missed anyone, although I did not find a Michael Steer WILLIAMS.

Yes, but so could any of the daughters, or for that matter any of the sons could be the father.

The 1841 census for Devon is often a little tricky to read, this bit isn't too bad, any omissions are likely to be me.

Anyway the 1841 transcription is below. The third entry may indicate and confirm my feeling that Betsy Cowle = Elizabeth in the will and she was living in Lambhay Hill in 1841.

You mentioned a Mary Elliot Steer in your email. I have no record of anyone of that name in parish registers, GRO or census returns. Who is she?
