I've just finished extracting the STEER entries from piece 1673. There are a few SPEAR entries that I have include as it is just possible they should be STEER - I've been called SPEAR so often that I wonder every time I see the name written.

This is not the best written or preserved census document that I've read. Although I've kept pretty well to the script, I have popped Devon on the end of the place name. It does seem that that there is no standard practice for this throughout census documents.

Coplestone or Copplestone appears in enumeration districts 10 (Crediton) and 11 (Colebrooke).

I shall send a copy to the list in the hope that it might help Pam and Carole.
