Margaret,
Three other members of the LEE STEERE family died in the Second World War
27.5.1940 Charles Augustus LEE STEERE aged 29, a Flying Officer (Pilot) in
the RAF. He is buried in Oostkerke Communal Cemetery
29.6.1944 Roderick Yelverton LEE STEERE a lieutenant in the Royal Australian
Naval Volunteer Reserve is commemorated on Plymouth Naval Memorial
Australian Panel 93.
31.8.1942 John Charles LEE STEERE aged 32, a private in the2/16 Battalion
Australian Infantry is buried in Port Moresby (Bomana) War Cemetery He was
the son of Edward John and Caroline Agnes LEE STEERE of Boyup Brook, Western
Australia
I'm fairly sure that the last two were part of the LEE STEERE branch that
emigrated to Perth, Western Australia in the mid nineteenth century.
Regards,
Jack Steer
