born and also the state in which you are searching.

My ancestor is William Stephens, born abt 1780, I don't know where, and
Married to Rachel Clark, b. 1792 in St Martinville, Louisiana. They had
Children:
1. John Vachell Stephens, b. 14 Oct 1820
2. Rachel Stephens
3. Julia Stephens b. abt 1835
4. Mary Elizabeth Stephens
5. Ann Stephens

Could my Stephens be related to the Stephens in Mississippi?

There are so many John Stephens and William Stephens and if the right area
of the country and approximate dates are not given, then so many of these
names get ignored.

Please give dates and places with your names.
