Thacker, Juliana B., VA 1843: G101

Charles7 (John6, Charles5, John4), marr-1 14 Mar 1843 Juliana B. Thacker;
m-2 6 Oct 1838 Susan Ann Willoughby, and m-3 6 Sep 1865 Jane Apphia Carter.
Unfortunately the line is not continued further, so James Penn Stewart is
not in the SCM. However, Charles' forebears are:

John4 Stewart, b. 16 Oct 1734, married about 1755 Ann Haw (or Howe) and
lived in Hanover, Louisa and Amherst counties, VA.

His son Charles5 married 15 Dec 1785 Sarah (Statham) Forbes, b. 1760,
daughter of Charles Statham and widow of William Forbes or Forbush of Nelson
county. However, there is a tricky connection here. Charles is not actually
given any children, and he died 14 Aug 1836 'apparently without issue and
without making a will'. His lands were distributed among his brothers.
During his lifetime he had deeded land to Jane Forbush and to Robert and
Jefferson Henry Forbush, who appear to be her children by her first
marriage. However, the next paragraph on G100 is entitled John6 Stewart
(Charles5, John4), and in it, it says: "The name of John's mother might be
ascertained from the records of Amherst county, from which Nelson county was
taken in 1808. She was probably Sarah Loving." It would almost seem that a
paragraph under Charles was left out. In any case, John6 is indexed as being
the son of Charles/Sarah Loving, and is only on G100.

John6 Stewart marr. in Nelson county Behetherland Spencer, daughter of
Samuel Spencer; licence dated 13 Jan 1812. Jon and Behetherland (who was
also called nancy) deeded 11 Mar 1818 to Charles Perrow, for $200, all of
John's right in the landed estate of John Loving, deceased, "as also my
portion coming from James Loving and as was willed to me after the death of
my mother, Sarah Tease, by will duly recorded in Amherst couty." He died
before his father, in 1835, and his will, dated 16 June 1835, was witnessed
by Charles Perrow, Sarah Teas, Abb H. Stewart and others; it was probated 25
Sept 1835. In it he mentions land "which was given to me by my father
Charles Stewart" to be sold to pay debts and what money was left over to be
divided equally among his children after the widow received her legal
portion. His son Charles was to have the colt of his Bolivian mare. From
this and later data it was learned that his children were:
