Am pondering the protocol regarding the wearing of the Royal Stewart
kilt. Some have said that only bonafide descendants of the royal family
may wear it which includes Prince Charles and his boys and the Queen
mother. I've never gotten any qualification regarding the wearing of
this kilt by descendants of Stewart bastard children. I don't know how
this would play in the UK.I don't think my ancestors fell into the
latter category but.. you never know for sure.

But... being in the US, others have said just wear whichever kilt you
like best. We do not pay homage to monarchs here but at the Scottish
games here in the states, we do try to respect UK customs. One example:
the Lion rampant flag is not supposed to be flown unless a member of the
Royal Family is present. Another: most attendees remain quiet and
respectful while the Canadian and UK anthems (O Canada, God Save the
Queen) are played.

Any comments?
