Hello,

My name is Doug Johnson from Cincinnati, Ohio. My GGGGrandfather was
Charles Stewart. He married Mary Hunter and resided in Saint Charles,
Ohio. Saint Charles is a small community in Butler County, Ohio which
was name for Charles after his death. Charles was born 12/2/1781 in
South Amboy, NJ to Jacob Stewart (1755-1835) and Eunice/Edith Dunn
(~1755 - ???) according to the Mormon web site. Jacob's father is also
a Charles Stewart from Cohansie, Cumberland County, NJ and he is my dead
end on this Stewart line.

It appears that Jacob and Eunice moved to Westmoreland County, PA in
about 1793. Their first 5 children, Benjamin, Charles, Edith, Mary,
Elizabeth and Hannah were all born in Middlesex County, New Jersey,
where Eunice Dunn's family was from. Their last four - Jacob, Silas,
Bracha and John were all born in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania which
is where Jacob's death is recorded in April of 1835 on the Mormon web
site.

Can anyone link to this family and tell me more about Jacob's father
Charles? His mother was supposedly a Mary, but I can't find a record on
these people. There is a Charles Stewart married to a Mary Ayers in
Massachusetts in that era, but the family names are totally different
and the geographies do not merge.
