A branch of our family lost our Family Bible with all of the valuable
information that we have to search so hard for now. Since then I have
made it a point to check Bibles in yard sales, auctions and used book
stores for information about a family. I found two and I needed a place
to put the information out so it wouldn't be lost. (I'm not selling or
pushing the Bibles, I have given them to the church to use, only the
information in the Bibles that is so important to genealogists.) I knew
I could put it on the rootsweb site for that surname except that they
didn't have one with either surname so I went looking. I found a
marvelous site but they told me they didn't have many members on the
list. I was surprised. To sign up for this list, send an email to


Then watch for old Bibles and post the information for all to check. (I
hope you find the Gibbens one we lost in Arkansas.) Also post on the
surname site. We can help each other.
