I believe the copyright can extend for two consecutive 23 yr periods after
that 1970 publishing date. I understand the family doesn't want to publish
it. But in 2016 it becomes public domain (maybe) - that's probably what was
happening with you helping to republish a book older than copyrights were
extended.

I'm not absolutely sure of that 23yr. thing being accurate either - maybe 26
yrs - I would certainly buy a CD too - but
anyway
