You haven't had a look at the Stewart Clan Index I think ... Irwin
Carson Stewart, b. 4 May 1844 is listed in the Indexes to the SCM, on
website http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/ thus:

Irwin Carson WV 1844 s.RobCald/MaryAnnKirk D128, I220, 238

The reference to page D128 (Tome D, p.128) is only a query, but on I220,
the issue of January 1967, he is given as having married Lucinda C.
Lafferty in 1867 -- no date though, so you really are ahead with what
you found on the Illinois site. Also, no children are given on that
page, but the following children are given on I238, with no dates:
Clarence, Leaffie, Charles Alonzo, Linus, Mary Adeline, Frank and
Jennie. The information came from Mrs Norma M. ZOBELL, whose mother was
Mary Adeline, called Mamie.

D127-128 gives what was found of the ancestry of Irwin C. Stewart. His
father was Robert Caldwell Stewart, b. 6 Aug 1811 in PA, who married
Mary Ann KIRK, b. 9 July 1809 in PA, daughter of George Kirk. The
marriage date is not given, and there is some speculation that Robert
Caldwell Stewart was the son of John/--, son of John: more information
can be found on A157 and B268.

Robert C. and his wife lived apparently in Wheeling WV, then probably in
Bridgeport, Belmont Co. OH, moving to Warren Co. IL where they lived at
Kirkwood prior to the census of 1850. Mary Ann died, and Robert married
a widow, Mrs -- Warren. No date for his death or that of his second
wife, but Mary Ann, the mother of all his children, was buried at Little
York, Warren Co. IL, ten miles north of Kirkwood "where the gravestones
may tell you more about the family." The four sons went out to Kansas.

Eliza Jane, b. 28 Jan 1833, lived at Little York
Adeline, b. 22 Apr 1836, d. infant
James William, b. 18 July 1838, OH, m. Martha GRAHAM
Irwin Carson, b. 4 May 1844, m. 1867 Lucinda C. LAFFERY
Robert John, b ca 1848, lived near Topeka KS

On the website I cited above you can find more information about the
Stewart Clan Magazine, a publication which ran from 1922 to 1970, as
well as which libraries across the country have the full run. Also the
LDS has it on microfilm.
