THELMA STEWART
Pekin - Thelma Hannah Marie Stewart, 84, of Pekin died at 12:47 a.m.
Tuesday (Nov. 16, 1999) at her home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley
Funeral Home, 500 N. Fourth St., Pekin. The Rev. Frank G. Noyes will
officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Pekin.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Friday at
the funeral home.
Mrs. Stewart was born Dec. 13, 1914, at Kernan, a daughter of Carl
and Clara H. Franks Girnus. She married Everett L. Stewart on Feb.
5, 1933, in Wenona. He died Nov. 7, 1982.
Survivors include four sons, Everett L. "Lee" Stewart Jr. of Decatur,
Carl N. Stewart of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Byron G. Stewart and
Richard L. "Rick" Stewart, both of Pekin; two daughters, Donna M.
Davis of Monticello and Linda L. Bennett of Pekin; 25 grandchildren;
35 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, two sisters, a grandson and a
great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Stewart was a clerk at the former Fourteenth Street Market
Pekin, where she worked until retiring in 1980. She attended
Gethsemane Church, Pekin.
