Hello Charlotte,

Have you had a look at the Indexes to the Stewart Clan Magazine, online
at http://users.hol.gr/~mkyritsi/ ? If you go to the A's and put in your
'find on this page' 1755, his approximate date of birth, it goes
directly to this:

Alexander VA 1755 s.? m.CathSheets C136, 157, 180, 183, D164, 232, 309,
310, 313, E163, 184, 191, F44, 67, 68, 112, 145, H4, I225, 290, J4, 7

As you can see he is mentioned all through the SCM, although a good many
of the entries are simply letters published by some of his descendants
where his name was mentioned. His own ancestry was never determined.
There is a link from the first page above to libraries around the
country where the SCM is located, plus another link giving a short
history of this magazine, and an explanation of the pagination used.
