Any help with this Charles would be wonderful...............

1. CHARLES1 STEWART was born January 12, 1817 in Alabama, and died June 04, 1884 in Tombleson, Scott Co., Arkansas. He married MINERVA. She was born July 08, 1835 in Mississippi, ?, and died December 24, 1904 in Packsaddle Cemetery, Tombleson Township, Scott Co., Arkansas.

Now I am wondering if he means Mississippi Territory in stead of being born in Alabama.....when he was born ....it could of been Miss. Territory....then turn ino Alabama later...

Now in the Eagle County ( Acukshunnubbee) Choctaw Nation...Free Inhabitants...1860 was two of his children living with
Wright, Ashley, age 32, M, Farmer, Ark. Territory
Steward, Jesse J. , age 9, M, Miss.
Sara F. , age 7, F, Miss.
Now Eagle Co. was next door to Sevier Co.....thought I should put that info in.

I think these children were going to a Choctaw Indian School. I am still looking for info.


Charles is on the 1870 census, Scotts Co. Ark. Reel 29 page 653.
Charles age 54, Farmer, born Alabama.
Manerva age 37, House keeper, born Miss.
Jesse age 20, farmer, born Miss.
Sarah 18, born Miss.
Nancy age 16, born in Miss.
Manerva age 14, born in Ark.
Dorah age 13, born in Ark.

1880 Census, Scotts Co. Ark.
Charles Stuart, Hd, 64, Ala.
Manerva 49, MS
S.F. Daughter age 24, Ms, Al ,Ms
L.M. Daughter age 20 Ms, Al, Ms
