I just received a copy of the WILL of my ancestor, John Stewart who
writes his Will 3 Jan 1806 in Laurens District SC. It says:

. . . "I will and bequeath unto my oldest son Frances, my bibel, my
land and sadelle, watch and medel, . . ."

This seems to me that he had a medal, could it be from service in the Rev
War as he also ends his will by saying:

" . . . in the thirtyth year of the Independencey of the United State of
America. "
