I don't know what happened to the spacing on my last post, but I found it
most confusing. Guess something happened in the copy/paste step. Sorry
about that.
I think this looks better.

"Quoted from p. 193 of "Early Records of Georgia, Wilkes County" by Grace
Gillan Davidson: ARMSTRONG, JOHN Sr, dec'd Inv. Apr. 7 1788. Signed by Thos.
Morris, Jems Howell, and Thos. Harkens, as "appraised by us the subscribers,
of the est. of said dec'd." Recorded in the Book DD, folio 138.

Volume 2, page 29, of Mrs. Davidson's book: List of taxable property of
inhabitants of Capt. Karr's district. Received by Absolam Bedell, Esqr.
(apparently for the year 1785): John Armstrong 1 poll. William Stewart; 1
poll. Armstrong and Stewart are listed together, so apparently they were
living in the same household."

My line is John Armstrong and Annie Stewart through their son, John
Armstrong, Jr. I believe this William Stewart to be Annie's father. I
know almost nothing else about this line any further back. I have excellent
research on all their descendants.

Children of John Armstrong and Annie Stewart

i. John2 Armstrong, born Abt. 1769; died July 01, 1844 in Probably
Montgomery, Alabama. He married Nancy Kittle.

ii. James Armstrong, born Abt. 1760 in Probably South Carolina. He
married Elizabeth in Georgia.

iii.Mary Armstrong, born Abt. 1774. She married William Noble.

iv.Susannah Armstrong, born 1769.

v. Nancy Armstrong, born Abt. 1766.

One thing we have found is that Addison was often given as a first or middle
name through many generations. There could be an Addison family in the
ancestry. Or it just could have been a popular name.
Hope to hear from someone familiar with this Stewart line.
